Hi, I’m Mattea!
I’m a strategizer, a creative, a communicator, a playful spirit, an explorer, a learner, an athlete, and a designer.
I’m also a graduate from Indiana Wesleyan University with a BFA degree in Visual Communication Design. Through my college years, I had many experiences that have further developed my love and passion to use design as my tool to serve with and for others. I see the value of how design can help connect people and create experiences that help change the ways they live. In addition to visual communication design, I dabble in a few other creative disciplines that further fuel my creativity.

Creative Process
My creative process involves a balance of human-centered design, which develops an empathetic understanding of the problem, design thinking, which creates a strategic plan, and collaboration, which ensures the design solution pushes past its limits.
-
Asking questions about the problem to develop a deeper understanding of the goals of the project and be considerate of the clients’ needs.
-
Diving deep into research and beginning to identify connections and patterns that will help drive the process to isolate a core problem to determine a direction.
-
Creating design goals and strategizing a design solution for the core problem.
-
Testing a variety of ideas/strategies to see what works and doesn’t work to reveal new insights and directions that will help establish the final design.
-
Producing and activating all the details of the final design.
